| Resident
Camp Award |
$100
scholarships are available for children who attend any resident
camp that specializes in services and activities for the developmentally
disabled camper. |
| Day
Camp Award |
$50
awards are available for day camps, which could include Parks & Rec classes, sport camps, equestrian classes,
art classes, social skills camps, ARC camps, Camp PEACE, etc.

Four $25
awards are available annually. Disbursements
are approved for Region 10 workshops, F.O.C.U.S workshops, National ASA Conventions,
and Asperger's Super Conferences.

Scholarship
Information
|
- Campers
seeking scholarships must be enrolled in MISD and be identified
(per ARD assessment) as a special needs student within the
STC program OR be identified as a special needs student
who receives services related to a diagnosis of PDD, Autism,
or other Autism Spectrum Disorder.
- Parents
seeking scholarships must be residents of McKinney and have
children enrolled in the MISD Autism program or receiving
related services due to a primary diagnosis of autism or
other spectrum disorder. If applicant lives outside of McKinney,
but pays tuition for a student to attend MISD, proof of
enrollment must be provided.
- Scholarships
are awarded without regard to merit or financial need. Applications
must be completed accurately and in full or will not be
considered.
- Awards
are made payable to the camp, day program, or workshop/conference
designated on the application. Verification of pending enrollment
is necessary.

- Camp
application forms will be available January 6, 2008
- Camp
applications must be received no later than May 1, 2008.
- Recipients
will be notified by mail no later than May 16, 2008.
- Awards
will be chosen randomly in May, with one recipient per family
- Parent
Education Applications are available on-line. See link below.
- Education
awards are disbursed on a first-come, first-served basis
until funds are depleted.
